The Conception of AWEtv

AWEtv was conceived out of the iAM Woman in Business Circle. The circle provides a venue for women to share their passions and fears, and to discuss new and authentic ways of being profitable in their work. As I heard stories of the amazing creativity and unique offerings of each woman in the group, I knew that these stories need to be shared beyond the circle. At the same time I met with a wonderful and dynamic woman, Wendy from ACTV who supported my vision and provided the platform to launch AWEtv.

The Purpose

As people we connect with each other through our stories. AWEtv will tell stories of conscious entrepreneurs with the purpose of connecting local businesses, artists, and community. These stories will speak to the passions, fears, and solutions related to creating a thriving business out of one’s purpose. These conversations, we hope, will provide hope and inspiration, to people looking to create new sources of income and living a more meaningful life.

In addition AWEtv will keep you informed of the many options available to people to make mindful, sustainable, and fulfilling consumption choices within our local community. AWEtv will spark dialog around inspired living as conscious business people, as mindful consumers, and as a dynamic community.

Meet the Creative Director

I am really pleased that Kris, who is famous for her KrisCan show about Peak Oil, is parterning with AWEtv as the creative director. Kris brings many years of experience, skills, and most of all an authentic appreciation for the vision at AWEtv. Kris believes that education and awareness of important issues confronting us today need not bring more gloom but can “actually be a catalyst for a healthier, happier, more thoughtful way of life.” This is consistent with the vision of AWEtv to create awareness and conversations that enhances mindful and inspired living as consumers and entrepreneurs.

The Format

AWEtv will be aired by Amherst Community Television (ACTV) every two weeks. There will be a web space created to host profiles of the authentic women entrepreneurs and provide a platform for viewers to interact with the entrepreneurs. The show will be available for viewing online as well.

We are creating a new model for sponsors to support this show, which will be revealed soon.

The iAM Woman in Business Circle already has more than 100 women who will be encouraged to share the show with their social networks and ACTV gets about 1100 clicks a day. In addition, we are looking to partner with the local chambers of commerce, newspapers, and radio stations. So, your story is going to get out if you are on AWEtv.

How to Participate?

There are many ways you can participate in AWEtv.

Authentic women entrepreneurs: If you are doing work that is meaningful to you and making a difference in your community please sign up for AWEtv on the private Facebook group created for iAM Woman in Business Circle. Click on this link for the iAM Woman in Business Circle group and then send request to join. Once I accept your request you can go to the discussion board for signing up for AWEtv, called ACTV Program Sign up Sheet. You don’t have to participate in the iAM Woman in Business Circle to be on AWEtv, but you are most welcome if you would like to participate in a dynamic forum to discuss innovative, authentic, and mindful marketing practices.

Just starting out: If you are just starting out or thinking of pursuing your passion and would like to be in a non judgmental space with other dynamic women to discuss marketing solutions that are innovative and authentic, please join the iAM Woman in Business Circle. In addition to be in an inspiring environment you will find support, feedback, and potential customers within these meetings. You can attend the monthly meetings and/or continue the dialog outside of the meetings on the private Facebook group. Once you feel ready to share your abundance you can sign up for being interviewed on AWEtv.

Supporting AWEtv: There are many ways you can support AWEtv. Your financial support will help in producing the ongoing series to cover the stories of women entrepreneurs following their passion and making a difference. I believe in win-win situations. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss ways in which you can gainfully support AWEtv.

The other way that you can support AWEtv is by participating in the dialog on innovative, authentic, and mindful entrepreneurship and lifestyle. We will be creating an online space to ask questions, comment, and debate with the speakers on AWEtv before and after each show. We hope you will use this forum to find out more about conscious business and living in your community and share this information with people who can benefit from participating in AWEtv in any or all of the ways. Meanwhile if you have any questions you would like to ask authentic entrepreneurs, please post them on the iAM Facebook Pages Discussion Board.
